Guest Terms

These booking terms and conditions (“Guest Terms”) set out the basis on which Little Monkey (as defined below) will provide accommodation and other products and services at its Hostels to Guests. By making a Booking (as defined below) the Guest agrees to comply, and to ensure that all Guests comply, with these Booking Terms. Expressions have the following meanings:

“Guest” means the Customer and/or any other people included in a Booking;

“Hostel” means Little Monkey Hostel.

“No-Show” means a guest not arriving at the hostel on the date of arrival of their reservation without prior notice.

Bookings

Guests may make reservations in advance through Little Monkey Hostel’s website or third party booking websites on which the hostel is advertised.

Guests are required to provide identification (Passport or Driver’s license) and information including, but not limited to, their name, address, phone number, nationality and email address. In case no authorised credit card can be presented, Little Monkey reserves the right to deny entrance to the hostel.

Reservations are not required. Guests may make bookings on arrival. However, Little Monkey can not guarantee the availability of rooms or other facilities for such bookings. Little Monkey Hostel does not accept walk-in reservations after 10pm.

Arrivals and Departures

On the day of arrival (Check in day), your room will be available from 3pm. If you plan to arrive before check in time you can arrange early check-in for a small fee. Early check-in is from 1pm and depends on availability so make sure you reserve it when you’re making your booking or contact us.

On the day of departure (Check out day), your room must be cleared by 10am. Please make sure you (and your belongings) are out of the room by then. You can also arrange late check-out and stay in a little longer for a small fee. Late check-out runs until 1pm and depends on availability so make sure you reserve it when you’re making your booking or contact us.

Note: If you’re late to check out, you’ll be required to pay for another night, so make sure your alarm is set!

Room Access

The check-in process is fully digital and there is no need to visit the reception on arrival. You can check in online in advance, on arrival by scanning a QR code or by visiting our reception during opening hours. After checking in you’ll be able to use your phone or the 4 digit code you’ll receive to digitally access your room and our common areas.

When you check in and accept our terms, you are confirming that the information you are providing is true.

Age Restrictions

Accompanied Minor:

  • Minors accompanied by a legal guardian/parent can book a private room only.
  • The legal guardian/parent must stay in the same room. If relationship status is not clear, a completed parental consent form must be presented.
  • If minors are part of a school group that has booked an entire pod room, they can stay in a pod room.

Unaccompanied Minor:

  • Minors aged 16 and 17 unaccompanied by a legal guardian/parent can book a private room only.
  • A parental consent form, filled in and signed by parents or legal guardians, is required.
  • A copy of the parents/legal guardian’s ID or Passport is needed.

Should there be any doubt regarding the authenticity of the parental consent form, Little Monkey reserves the right to call the parent/legal guardian to confirm their identity.

Room Allocation

If you’re travelling with friends or family, our staff will attempt to put you all together in the same room, but this can not be guaranteed due to the nature of hostels. If you want to make sure that you aren’t separated from your group, we suggest booking a private room and securing the entire pod-room for your group. Please note that our rooms are mixed gender unless a ladies-only room is booked.

Payment and Fees

Please be aware that we only accept card payments for all bookings. The payment card must match the guest’s name on identification on arrival. Little Monkey is a cashless property. We do not accept cash payments.

Rates and prices quoted when making reservations only apply to accommodation unless otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply including, but not limited to food, drinks and other services Little Monkey Hostel might be offering.

Any Additional charges must be paid as they are incurred.

Little Monkey may require each Guest to present a valid payment card upon check-in or in advance, on which an amount of sufficient pre-authorization can be obtained. For Non-refundable rates, we require the payment card used for booking to be presented upon check in.

A City Tax of €2.90 per person per night is excluded from the room rate but included as “extra” with your booking. You do not need to pay extra on arrival.

Renting a towel is optional; you are also welcome to bring your own. Towels are included if you stay in a Double or Twin room. Towels can be rented when making a booking or upon arrival (depending on the arrival time). If you rent a towel, please make sure to leave it on the hook by your bed when you check out. In case your towel is not returned, a €10 fee will apply.

Rentals

Renting a towel is optional; you are also welcome to bring your own. Towels are included if you stay in a Double or Twin room. Towels can be rented when making a booking or upon arrival (depending on the arrival time). If you rent a towel, please make sure to leave it on the hook by your bed when you check out. In case your towel is not returned, a €10 fee will apply.

Bikes are available to rent, subject to availability. Bikes can be rented when making a booking or upon arrival (depending on the arrival time and availability). If you rent a bike, you are fully responsible for the bike during the rental period, from the moment you receive the key to the moment you return it. This means any damage to the bike during that period will be your full responsibility. If the bike is stolen during your rental period, a €400 fee will apply. We recommend and ask that you always ensure the bike is properly locked to minimize the chance of any additional fees. By renting a bike, you agree to these terms.

Cancellations

  • Non-refundable: This rate offers no flexibility on your booking along with a discount. Non-refundable bookings can not be changed or cancelled. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • Flexible rate: This rate offers flexibility on your booking up to 5 days prior to arrival. Booking can be cancelled free of charge up 5 days before arrival. The total price of the reservation will be charged 5 days prior to arrival. If you notify us any less than 5 days before your arrival date, or in case of a no-show, you will not be entitled to a refund.

If you arrive a day late without informing the hostel, we will try and find you a bed, but this may not be in the same room type booked and may incur extra charges. Where the Guest fails to give sufficient notice of cancellation or fails to arrive (no-show) at the Hostel, the entire Booking will be deemed cancelled and the Guest must pay the Hostel an amount equal to the Charges for the full stay. Little Monkey shall be entitled to collect such amount from the Guest’s credit or debit card used to make the Booking without further notice to the Guest.

Little Monkey may at any time cancel the Booking without liability if:

  • The payment details provided by the Guest are invalid and the Guest fails to provide alternative valid details;
  • The information provided by the Guest in relation to the Booking is misleading or false (for example in relation to the identity of any Guest or the purpose of the stay);
  • Little Monkey reasonably believes that fulfilling the Booking might negatively affect the reputation or operation of Little Monkey due to the fault of the Guest or because the performance of any of Little Monkey’s obligations would expose Little Monkey or the Little Monkey group to civil or criminal proceedings of any kind, whether because the purpose of the stay is unlawful or otherwise; or
  • In addition, Little Monkey may at any time cancel the Booking if the Hostel or the room(s)/bed(s) booked become unavailable due to circumstances outside Little Monkey’s control (including without limitation, extreme adverse weather, industrial action, epidemic or pandemic, any law or any action taken by a government or public authority, natural disaster), in which case Little Monkey will (at its election) either offer the Guest a refund or the option to rebook for a different date(s) (subject to availability) at no additional charge.

Special Offers and Packages

Little Monkey Hostel run a variety of special offers and packages throughout the year. These are open to all guests except group bookings (over 10 people) to which different terms apply.

All special packages are Non-refundable once the booking has been completed. Please feel free to contact our team if you have any doubt.

Receipts and Invoices

If needed, we can provide receipts for proof of payment for your stay. Invoices, however, can only be provided after your stay by our reservations department for groups of 10 or more.

Peace at Night

From 11pm to 7am peace at night has to be kept in all rooms, corridors and the grounds. All noise should be avoided. Failure to observe the peace at night may result in immediate ejection.

Smoking and gathering is forbidden in front of and in the vicinity of the hostel from 11pm to 7am.

House Rules

Guests are required to conduct themselves in a reasonable and responsible manner at all times when on Hostel property and must not act in any way which may disturb other guests. Any guest who, in the opinion of our staff, compromises the comfort, safety, or security of other guests, staff, or local residents will be asked to leave the hostel premises and will not be given a refund.

  • Please earphones if you watch video content or listen to music on your electronic devices.
  • Any longer phone calls should be taken outside the shared room.
  • Please keep your personal items organised in your room in a reasonable, clean and tidy state, limiting your personal belongings to the minimum.
  • Please use bed sheets and pillowcase all the time, make your bed every morning.
  • Guests are not permitted to lean out of windows, sit on window sills, throw items out of the window, hang clothes or fabrics out of the windows or doors or call from the window.
  • You must ensure that your room door is always closed. The only people that will have access to your room other than you and/or your roommate(s), is the Little Monkey team.
  • Emergency exits (including via the windows) and fire ladders may only be used in emergencies. In the event of improper use, the hostel accepts no liability, and any costs incurred as a consequence must be settled at the hostel.
  • Tampering with fire alarms, fire extinguishers and other damage to the property will result in a fine and termination of reservation with no refund.
  • It is your responsibility to familiarise with the fire escape evacuation routes provided behind your room door.
  • Zero-tolerance policy on acts of aggression and violence towards both its staff and other guests.
  • The hostel reserves the right to charge a fee for damages and gross soiling by the guest.
  • Storing electric scooters or bikes, as well as charging of their batteries is not permitted on our premises.

A room’s maximum occupancy is limited to the number of beds. For example:

  • A 4 bed-room can only host up to paying 4 guests.
  • A Twin room can only host 2 paying guests.
  • A room booked for single use must not be shared at risk of cancellation, removal from property and additional charges.
  • It is not allowed to swap beds/rooms.
  • Little Monkey staff have the right to enter any room, at any time and for any purpose including, but not limited to, for the purpose of cleaning and maintenance.
  • For hygienic reasons, eating or drinking in the rooms is not allowed. You are welcome to prepare and consume your own food in the common areas (guest kitchen), during kitchen opening hours.
  • Friends and family are more than welcome in our lounge & bar. Persons not booked into the hostel are not allowed to enter the room areas. You will be responsible for the conduct of any visitors you may bring to the property.
  • Guests will be liable for any and all damage caused by them to any Hostel property during their stay and shall bear all costs associated with the damage.
  • Guests are invited to immediately report any pre-existing damage.
  • Any additional cleaning of rooms, corridors and shared facilities resulting from disorderly conduct will be charged accordingly.

Please note the following are not allowed at our property:

  • Anyone under 18 years of age without an adult or parental consent form,
  • Stag & Hen parties in shared rooms. All Stag/Hen parties must take entire rooms,
  • Groups of Football fans in the city for international or national matches.

Little Monkey uses common sense. If any infraction occurs and is not mentioned above or no specific fine is mentioned for the infraction, a fine may be applied and depending on the seriousness of the infraction, there may be immediate ejection. A refund will not be issued.

Alcohol, Smoking, Drugs & Weapons

Due to our bar license, guests are not allowed to bring their own alcohol onto our premises. If you are found entering Little Monkey with alcohol, you will be charged €50 and all alcohol will be confiscated until you leave the building at checkout. Alcohol is available in the bar and can be consumed there only. No food or drink may be taken out of the lounge & bar.

Smoking (including E-cigarettes) is not permitted anywhere at Little Monkey Hostel building. Any guest found smoking inside the building will be fined €250 and asked to leave the premises immediately. A refund will not be issued for the stay. Failure to adhere to the non-smoking policy shall result in the Guest being charged for any and all costs incurred by the Hostel in cleaning the room (including, but not limited to, fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings) and restoring it to a smoke-free environment, as well as all and any cost incurred by the response of Fire department.

Drugs or weapons must under no circumstances be brought into the hostel and will result in immediate ejection. In any event the relevant authorities will be notified. Any guest found using drugs or with weapons inside the building will be fined €250 and asked to leave the premises immediately. A refund will not be issued for the stay.

Guest Kitchen

Our guest kitchen is available for guests during kitchen opening hours, please check the times at the property. You can only use the kitchen during this time. The kitchen is closed outside these hours. Please remember that:

  • The kitchen must be kept clean and organised at all times.
  • Please wash up and place the used items in the cupboards provided. Respect each other and clean up immediately after yourself.
  • You may store your own food in the fridge provided as long as they are marked with your name and date.
  • Several times a week the hostel staff will remove unlabelled or spoiled food or food belonging to guests who have checked out.
  • The kitchen is not available to use by groups of more than 10 people.
  • You are welcome to consume and to place items on the Free Food cupboard.
  • Please remember that guests cannot bring their own drinks onto the premises.
  • The hostel accepts no liability for food.

Your comfort and security is our highest priority. We have CCTV set up in our public spaces. That includes the kitchen. Please be mindful and respect these rules and each other. Failure to follow the kitchen rules may result in fine.

No Discrimination

Any discriminatory behaviour and/or harassment of groups or individuals, in particular based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion/belief, age, appearance or social origin, is not permitted at Little Monkey Hostel.

No Pets

No pets or animals are allowed in our hostel, apart from guide dogs!

Personal Property

Each bed has a personal locker for your valuables. It is a guest’s responsibility to ensure that personal belongings are always secure. Little Monkey Hostel accept no liability for the loss, theft, or damage to guests’ property, however, sustained or caused.

Use the corresponding locker of your bed only. If during the inspections, we notice you’re using the locker allocated to a different bed you will be fined.

Lost Objects

Items lost or left behind in the building of Little Monkey which are found by the guest, must be returned to Little Monkey as soon as possible.

Little Monkey acquires ownership of objects, of which the rightful owner has not reported to Little Monkey within 3 months of stay.

If Little Monkey sends objects left behind by the guest to the guest, this shall take place entirely at the risk and expense of the guest. Little Monkey shall never be held to proceed with despatch.

Liability

Except in relation to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, Little Monkey’s liability remains, always, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.

Personal Data

Little Monkey Hostel will only store and use information you supply to us, or which is supplied to us for the purposes of carrying out a contract with you and to inform you of other services and offers that we make available from time to time. Errors and Omissions

Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages/sites, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgment, dispatch note, invoice, or other documents issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any changes at the time of booking or as soon as is reasonably possible thereafter.

Discretion

All bookings are subject to availability and Little Monkey reserve the right to decline any booking at its discretion.

Refunds

In the event of Force Majeure (governmental action, transportation interruption, terrorist attack, acts of God…) affecting your booking, Little Monkey is unable to refund customers, and we reserve the right to receive any outstanding payments in connection to your confirmed booking.

Extension leads & adaptors

The use of extension leads is prohibited at Little Monkey Hostel. Please ensure the adaptors you use are quality assured.

Group Terms

Accomodation

Additional group terms apply to all groups of 10 people or more and to all guests booked as a group, independent of the number of guests.

Due to the layout of the building and depending on the number of people in the group, it is not always possible to allocate the whole group in the same room or floor. We will, however, do our best to place them as close together as possible.

We must receive a rooming list for each group at least 30 days prior to arrival. This list must include the names of the guests, what room type they are staying in, the names of the leaders and the number of under and over 18-year-olds.

We do not offer coach parking.

Payment Policy

  • Non-refundable rates: Non-refundable bookings cannot be changed or cancelled. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • Flexible rates: 20% of the total amount is due immediately after booking confirmation. This is non-refundable. The balance equal to the remaining 80% of the amount is due within 30 days before arrival.

Without a deposit or balance payment paid within the time frame above, the booking will be automatically cancelled. All payments must be made by card or bank transfer in EUR to our designated account. You are responsible to pay all the bank charges associated with such payments. Bank transfers will be accepted up to 30 days before arrival – If you are late paying your balance or add extra beds less than 30 days before the arrival date, we will request a payment by card. Any extra charges must be paid either as they are incurred or at the time of balance payment.

Cancellations

Modifications and cancellations are only allowed with Flexible rates.

1. Full cancellation:

  • Up until 30 days before arrival date (the 20% deposit is non-refundable).

2. Partial cancellation:

You can decrease the initial amount of beds booked by up to 10% per night. The deadline to make these changes is the last payment date – 30 days before arrival.

To cancel your booking, you must inform our group reservation team

Partial cancellations and amendments are subject to date and rate restrictions. Examples of these are minimum stays as well as dates that closed for arrival or departure and changes in price.

We reserve the right to cancel a booking if:

  • There is a reasonable operational reason for us to do so.
  • The booking may be prejudicial to the reputation of the Company or the Hostel.
  • The information provided by the Group in relation to the Booking is misleading or false (for example in relation to the identity of any Group or the purpose of the stay);
  • We become aware of an adverse change in your financial status, and we reasonably consider that you may not be able to meet your payment obligations under the contract.

In such circumstances, we will issue a full refund, but we shall have no further liability to you arising out of such cancellation.

Arrivals and Departures

Groups are required to check-in and check-out all together. If this isn’t possible, please inform us in advance of your arrival.

We will accommodate the number of people in the room types pre-confirmed by you via email. If more people arrive, they will be asked to pay the available rate at check-in, if there are beds available.

We are unable to check-in a group until full payment has been made and house rules have been signed by the group leader(s).

Check-out is at 10am. If all rooms are not vacated by that time, a fine will be applied.

We offer free shared luggage storage for groups before check-in and after check-out. Due to limited space, please let us know in advance if this is something your group requires.

Reception is always available, at the location, via WhatsApp or via the Goki app, so there is always a member of the team to help you and your group with any questions.

In House

  • An 11 pm curfew is in place for all guests under the age of 18, so please make sure any guests under 18 are in their rooms by then.
  • Due to our bar license, guests cannot bring their own alcohol onto the premises.
  • If you are found entering with alcohol, you will be charged €50 and all alcohol will be confiscated until you leave the building at checkout. Alcohol is available in the bar and can be consumed there only.
  • Any guest found smoking in the building will be fined €250 and asked to leave the premises immediately; no refund will be offered.
  • Any guest found using drugs in the building will be fined €250 and asked to leave the premises immediately; no refund will be offered.
  • Guests will be expected to reimburse Little Monkey Hostel for any damages caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay.
  • The kitchen is not available to use by groups of more than 10 people.
  • We can’t accept the delivery of packed lunches/tickets ordered by external companies at our hostel. If you’re looking for lunches or tickets for your group, we can arrange them – just let us know.
  • Please make sure guests in your group have adequate travel insurance. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen property.

These Group terms and guidelines exist to make sure that your group and Little Monkey enter a relationship of mutual understanding and to make sure that Little Monkey is a safe, happy, and welcoming place to stay.

By confirming a group reservation at Little Monkey Hostel, you are agreeing to the Guest and Group terms.
