Bookings

How do I cancel or change my booking?2024-06-24T17:21:11+00:00

If you have booked through our website:

  • If you have booked a Non-Refundable rate, the booking cannot be changed or cancelled.
  • If you have booked a Flexible rate, you can change or cancel your booking up to 5 days prior to arrival.

If you booked with a partner e.g. Booking.com, HostelWorld, Expedia, etc. you should contact them regarding cancellations or changes.

Certainly! Here’s how your stay is managed:

Accompanied Minor:

  • Minors accompanied by a legal guardian/parent can book a private room only.
  • The legal guardian/parent must stay in the same room. If relationship status is not clear, a completed parental consent form must be presented.
  • If minors are part of a school group that has booked an entire pod room, they can stay in a pod room.

Unaccompanied Minor:

  • Minors aged 16 and 17 unaccompanied by a legal guardian/parent can book a private room only.
  • A parental consent form, filled in and signed by parents or legal guardians, is required.
  • A copy of the parents/legal guardian’s ID is needed.

Should there be any doubt regarding the authenticity of the parental consent form, Little Monkey reserves the right to call the parent/legal guardian to confirm their identity.

You’ll need to have a credit or debit card to guarantee your booking. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Diners club, JCB, Union Pay, Amex, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Please note: We don’t take cash!

Do I have to pay city tax?2024-06-24T17:22:30+00:00

Yes. Everyone staying in Enschede must pay €2.90 per night City Tax.

If you book through our website, a City Tax is excluded from the room rate but included as “extra” with your booking. You do not need to pay extra on arrival.

If you booked with a partner e.g. Booking.com, HostelWorld, Expedia, etc. please check their terms since every platform works in a different way.

Unfortunately, our shared facilities are not suitable for babies or really young children below 4 years.

Can I walk in or do I need to book in advance?2024-06-24T17:31:28+00:00

Sure! We always try to keep a few beds available for walk-ins. However, It can get pretty busy, especially in the summer and on weekends, so we’d suggest checking availability here on our website first.

I haven’t received my booking confirmation email, what should i do?2024-06-24T17:31:39+00:00

It can take up to 10 minutes for confirmation emails to arrive (check your junk folder!). if you still don’t have the confirmation and you booked directly on our website, please contact us stating your name & arrival date and we will resend it to you.

If you booked with a partner e.g. Booking.com, HostelWorld, Expedia, etc. please contact them directly to resend your booking confirmation.

Check in & Check out

The check-in process is fully digital and there is no need to visit the reception on arrival.

Option 1 : Check in by following the instructions in your confirmation email. Prior to your arrival, you will receive an email with a link to check-in. Simply follow the instructions on this link to complete your digital check-in process. We highly recommend checking in advance to save time when you arrive.

Option 2 : Check in by following this link. You’ll need your reservation/confirmation number.

Option 3 : Check in by visiting our reception/bar on arrival during reception hours.

From 3pm to 10pm.

You can arrange early check-in for a small fee. Early check-in is from 1pm and depends on availability, so make sure you reserve it when you’re making your booking or contact us.

On the evening before your departure day, you will receive an email to complete your check-out online. Follow a few simple steps, and you’re done. The next morning, you do not need to visit the reception. If you have rented a towel, please make sure to leave it on the hook by your bed before you leave.

You can arrange late check-out for a small fee. Late check-out runs until 1pm and depends on availability, so make sure you reserve it when you’re making your booking or contact us.

Our Pod rooms were designed with privacy and comfort in mind. Each pod is equipped with blackout curtains, its own light, power outlets, a laptop/phone shelf, towel and jacket hooks and a private under-bed locker. We’ve also selected super comfy mattresses and cotton linen to provide you with an awesome night’s sleep.

You should book a private room. Pick from Twin, Double room or book the whole Pod-room to yourself or group. See private rooms here.

If you are booking beds in a pod-room for more than one person, we can’t guarantee that you’ll be placed in the same room. If you want to be sure to stay in the same room, please contact us prior to booking to check the availability in the same room or book a private room.

All bathrooms and toilets are outside the rooms. We like to keep it clean without bothering your sleep. Classic showers and some music to sing along. We keep the ladies and gents separated.

Yes we do! Please note that our rooms available for wheelchair users are located on the ground floor. To ensure you are allocated the appropriate room, it is essential to contact our team in advance.

Yes, we supply all your linen, bedding and pillows for all rooms. The beds are made beforehand with fresh cotton bed linen for you.

Yes! Every pod and room comes with a locker where you can store your items securely. You are welcome to bring your own padlock or you can purchase one from our vending machines. Our under bed locker is 85cm x 75cm x 25cm in size

Twin and Double rooms come with towels.

For the Pod-rooms, you can bring your own towel or rent one when making a booking.

Will my room be cleaned daily?2024-06-24T17:32:18+00:00

Our cleaning team clean the rooms daily. Long stay rooms are cleaned weekly. If you are staying longer than 3 nights your bed sheets are also exchanged after your third night. We do ask though to keep your personal items on your own bed or in the locker. Remember to keep it fresh, if you feel like you need the sheets exchanged please let us know.

Rooms are always mixed unless you book a ‘Ladies’ room. Showers & toilets are always separated though.

SmartKey & Door Code

Do I have to download an app to open the doors?2024-06-24T17:34:18+00:00

You don’t have to! After completing the online check in you can either use the web link straight from your confirmation email or use your back-up Door code to access all doors. Please note: The link and code will only work after check in time.

How many doors do I need to open in the building?2024-06-25T05:44:07+00:00

Front door : This door is always open during reception hours so you don’t need to unlock it. For security reasons this door is closed when the reception is closed. With your Front Door SmartKey (web link) or Door Code you can easily open it anytime for the duration of your stay. Please always make sure to check if the door closes properly when you enter the building.

Main door : This is the door between the reception and the rooms area. This door is always closed but with your Main Door SmartKey (web link) or Door Code you can easily open it anytime for the duration of your stay.

Room door : This is your room door, if you book a pod room or a private room you’ll always have access to your Room Door via SmartKey (web link) or via a Door Code. If you book a private room this door can be locked from the inside, if you book a pod room this door can not be locked from the inside. However, this door can only be accessed by guests staying in this room or by Little Monkey Hostel staff.

    Please note: All SmartKeys and Door Codes will only work after check in time and before check out time.

    The front door is open during reception hours. For security reasons, it is locked when the reception is closed. During these times, only checked-in guests will have access via the Web link and Door code provided.

    The SmartKey (web link) and Door code for all doors (incl. front door) will be provided to you upon completing your online check in.

    Is the code for the front door the same for all days of my stay?2024-06-24T17:35:50+00:00

    The Door code for the front door is unique for each booking and it is valid for the duration of your stay.

    To unlock your room, simply select your SmartKey via the web link you received by email or enter the door code on your room’s keypad.

    – If you experience any difficulties accessing the doors, ensure you are entering the correct Door code provided for your booking.
    – Double-check that you are trying to access the right door with the right web link
    – Make sure you have an active reservation. Please note: The link and code will only work after check in time and before check out time.

    Groups

    Reservations for 10 people or more will be considered group bookings. Special group terms and conditions will apply. Please refer to our group bookings page.

    Can the whole group be in the same room or the same floor?2024-06-24T17:32:52+00:00

    Due to the layout of the building and depending on the number of people in the group it is not always possible to allocate the whole group in the same room or floor. We will, however, do our best to place them as close together as possible.

    No security deposit needed, however please note that if the group damage the property or break rules (See Group terms), you will be fined.

    If you’re coming from the airport, take a train to Enschede Station. From there it’s a 5-minute walk to the hostel.

    Our address is Stadsgravenstraat 17, 7511 EP Enschede. We are located right next to the Oude Markt.

    We do not offer guest parking. However, there are plenty of paid parking options around the hostel:

    Yes, providing it arrives whilst you are staying here. Just let us know if you’re expecting a delivery. If something comes before or after your stay, we will not accept it.

    Yes, we offer bikes for rent. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee bikes for everyone, so we recommend booking in advance. You can add the bike to your booking when making a reservation thought our website. If you have already booked a room and want to add a bike to your booking, contact us and we will check the availability of our bikes for your desired day/time.

    No sorry, we love those furry friends – but we do not allow pets to stay here.

    Body, Hair and Hand wash are all provided.
