Bike Rental

Payment & Deposit

Payment for the rental period is due upfront.

A €50 pre-authorisation deposit will be held on the Renter’s credit card at the time of rental. This is a hold, not a charge, and will be released after the bike is returned in the same condition it was received and by the agreed-upon time.

The deposit may be used in the event of loss, damage, or late return as outlined below.

Condition of the Bike

The Renter agrees to inspect the bike before use and confirms that it is in good working condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and chain. Any pre-existing damages must be reported to the Hostel before leaving the premises.

Responsibility and Use

The Renter agrees to use the bike in a responsible manner and in accordance with local traffic laws.

The Renter must not use the bike for racing, stunts, or carrying more than one person.

The Renter is responsible for the safe storage of the bike. The bike must be locked securely when not in use. Failure to lock the bike may result in full liability for its loss.

Return of the Bike

The bike must be returned to the hostel by the agreed-upon time. Late returns will be charged an additional €5 per hour. Please note that if you try to return the bike after 8 pm, our reception will be closed and we won’t be able to receive it. The late fee of €5 per hour will continue to apply until the bike is returned.

If the bike is returned damaged, the Renter agrees to pay for any necessary repairs, which will be deducted from the deposit. If the damage exceeds the deposit amount, the Renter agrees to pay the difference.

Loss or Theft

In the event of theft or loss of the bike during the rental period, the Renter agrees to pay €250 for the replacement of the bike. This amount will be charged to the Renter’s credit card. If the card is declined it is the responsibility of the Renter to provide a different card with sufficient funds.

Accidents and Liability

The Hostel is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or damages caused by or to the Renter during the use of the bike. The Renter agrees to assume full responsibility for any incidents and to use the bike at their own risk.

Deposit Release

The pre-authorised deposit will be released within 24 hours of the bike being returned in the same condition it was received, provided there are no damages, theft, or additional charges (such as late return fees).
